Course Description

ERASMUS+ Teaching French using drama and theatre techniques for enhanced communication

For Teachers and Educational Staff using French as a Foreign Language

This workshop will assist participants gain confidence in their ability to teach an oral French language course utilising new technologies to facilitate work on students’ oral expression and exchanging ideas about best-practice approaches with colleagues from throughout Europe. It is also intended to improve participants’ teaching abilities as well as the outcomes of their students.

Preparation

Pre-course Preparative Modalities:

To be familiar with communication strategies as described by the European common framework of reference for languages and the criteria for the D.E.L.F.’s numerous tests
To be willing to try out new teaching approaches.

Practical Arrangements

Intra-Course Modalities offered by the Course Provider:

Tutor for the course

Ongoing examination and evaluation, including progress feedback
Advice and guidance on homework assignments
Accommodation and spiritual care services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Every day, there is an optional supplementary language workshop.
Tour of the city and a welcoming activity
Students have access to the school library and media centre.

Who is this course for?

Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes

Enhance proficiency in French language usage in a multi-national context in order to strengthen and consolidate participants' language abilities.
To assist instructors in using techniques to close the gap between their students' written and spoken proficiency.
To inspire pupils to talk without fear and to enjoy themselves while doing so.
To demonstrate that a course may be administered in a unique and dynamic way with students who are moving and laughing.
To combine theatrical approaches with a variety of oral expression tasks that have been specifically prepared for international students and customised for each language level.
Examine the French language's intonations and rhythms.
To apply a variety of improvisation activities connected to ongoing language level issues, balancing the need for conversational spontaneity with the requirement to rectify grammatical or semantic faults.
